Tularosa Equine Clinic was developed to serve the growing horse population in the Tularosa Basin and surrounding areas.
Leah Starr Hamilton, DVM is a 1992 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a general Equine practitioner who developed her own private practice and was a solo practitioner for 10 years. In December, 2002 she became a partner in Rockwall Equine Center (a regional referral center) as a general medicine and reproductive medicine specialist. She and her husband, Mike Hamilton, moved to Tularosa in February 2006 to build Tularosa Equine Clinic from the ground up. They have been married since 1994 and have two children, Christopher and Kaitlyn. Dr. Hamilton always loved horses and grew up raising, training and showing in multiple disciplines. She and her family currently have 6 horses, 5 dogs, 3 cats, 2 fish, and too many chickens! She and Mike are AQHA Life members, TTOBA life members and NMHBA members. She is a member of both AAEP and TEVA, with Tularosa Equine Practice recognized as a TEVA Platinum Practice. Dr. Hamilton enjoys internal medicine cases, especially difficult reproduction patients and is always learning new things! She has extensive practice management and computer technology skills and left a very devoted clientele in Texas.
